RESEARCH PATENT: Innovative cancer staging algorithm.

To leverage large healthcare databases for targeted patient interaction, Dr. LaFountain developed a patented algorithm that diagnoses the stage of every patient’s breast cancer. This is an important invention since ICD codes in large databases do not contain staging information. The patented algorithm allows for the right patient to be managed with the right information and support at the right time.

Other advanced analytics were developed to redefine engagement in behavioral terms that were meaningful to outcomes. This data analysis resulted in a joint publication with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, in the top-tier Journal of Clinical Oncology.
